Parent Council Roles

Parent Council is open to every parent or guardian with a student at Pape. Many roles can be shared, and parents are welcome to contribute in whatever way works for their schedule. Any amount of time you can contribute—big or small—is greatly appreciated.

Co-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer roles are determined by vote at the first Parent Council meeting of the school year.

  • Council Co-Chairs: Lead council meetings, set agendas, support council priorities, and act as a liaison between parents and the school.
  • Treasurer Co-Leads: Keep track of council finances, support budget planning, and provide financial updates.
  • Secretary: Keeps track of meetings, minutes, and council communications.
  • Events Co-Leads: Plan and coordinate school and community events, such as Silent Auction, Dance-a-thon, Parent Socials, Play Day, and other community-building events.
  • Hoot & Howl Co-Leads: Coordinate Hoot & Howl, Parent Council’s annual Halloween fun fair.
  • Sponsorship & Fundraising Co-Leads: Build community partnerships, coordinate sponsorship opportunities, and support fundraising initiatives.
  • Marketing & Communications Lead: Support council emails, newsletters, website updates, and parent communications.
  • Social Media Manager: Help share council updates and event information on social media.
  • Volunteer Coordinator: Recruit and organize parent volunteers for school events and council activities.
  • Parents and Guardians: Volunteer and participate without the need for a formal title. Any level of involvement helps support the school community.

Join as a volunteer — If an executive role isn’t right for you, you can still attend monthly meetings and help with events or projects throughout the year.

Join an initiative of your choice — Is there a program, extracurricular, or other initiative you’re passionate about and wish our school offered? Take the lead and bring it to life! We welcome your ideas and energy—any help is much appreciated!
