Pape Outside

Do you believe that children can benefit from being outside? Are you interested in helping to develop outdoor learning and play spaces? Do you have a green thumb? Do you like to muck about in the dirt? Are you interested in growing food? Do you like trees, flowers, butterflies, bees and birds? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please consider joining the team of volunteers who help to maintain and enhance Pape’s outdoor spaces so that our kids can get outside to learn and grow.

The goal of “Pape Outside” is to work together to maintain and enhance existing outdoor spaces, such as the ‘Learning Garden’ on the south side of the school. Depending on the skills, knowledge and time that volunteers have to offer, hopefully there will be additional projects that we can take on.

If you want to be involved in “Pape Outside”, please let us know. Tell us if there’s something specific that you’re interested in and when, how and to what extent you think you could participate. Although we’re heading into winter, there’s still lots to be done – gardens to put to bed, teachers to liaise with, grants to work on, planting and garden plans to develop, watering and weeding schedules to organize for the spring and summer and the list goes on.

“Pape Outside” meetings will be scheduled once we get a sense of volunteer availability.
